Description
Noise Space Audio Brass Fuzz is inspired by the original Maestro Bass Brassmaster octave fuzz pedal.
Brass Fuzz reassembles all the features and has the same schematic as the original Maestro fuzz but in a much smaller and more robust format.
Initially Brassmaster was meant to get brass-like sounds out of bass guitar.
Fortunately it turned out to be something completely different.
What’s it all about?
In simple terms the input is split into a clean path and a fuzz path.
The fuzz is a dual silicon transistor booster with a full wave rectifier for the octave up and some more fuzz with a selectable phase and twin-t filter for a few different tone options. The two paths are mixed back together at an output stage.
It’s a gated fuzz so it won’t bring any unwanted noise into the signal path.
The tone is full of harmonic content with loads of grit.
Try it with anything you have. Works great with guitars, drums and synths.
Controls:
- Clean – volume of clean slightly lowpassed signal
- Fuzz – volume of fuzz signal
- Drive – gain of fuzz path
- Harm – phase switch, used for tonal variations along with Brass switch
- Brass – twin-t filter.
Power supply is 9V DC with center negative, 10mA.
Hand-built in Kyiv, UA.
