Description
GORSE LATHE is a handcrafted experimental synthesizer designed for those who explore the raw essence of sound — the meeting point between structure and chaos.
Each unit is a living system, a responsive circuit that transforms movement into vibration, electricity into emotion.
At its heart lie two intertwined generators:
The NOISE engine, a chaotic sculptor offering three distinct sources — white, filtered white, and grain noise.
Each one can be shaped through a dedicated filter section with cutoff and resonance, while the TEX control adjusts the density and coarseness of the texture.
The noise can flow continuously or be triggered by an external gate, letting rhythm and decay emerge from your own pulse.
The LEGUS oscillator cluster, four interconnected oscillators whose frequencies interact in a web of constructive and destructive interference.
The result is a sound both complex and alive — sometimes stable, sometimes unstable, but always musical in its own strange logic.
You decide how these two forces interact.
A routing switch lets you send Noise to Delay and Legus to Harmonics, or invert their flow completely.
Each path feels different: one more fluid and rhythmic, the other more sculpted and spectral.
The Delay section bends time itself. With controls for input level, time, feedback, and dry/wet balance, it allows anything from subtle echoes to infinite walls of resonance.
An LFO modulation circuit animates the delay time, adding an organic instability — like breathing through the circuitry.
Then comes the HARMONICS module — a six-band equalizer and filter that acts as the brain of the instrument.
It shapes everything that passes through it, from delicate harmonics to distorted drones, with a feedback control that pushes the system toward self-oscillation if desired.
Together, these modules form a feedback ecosystem where sound is not played but grown.
It’s unpredictable, evolving, and deeply tactile.
Every control affects the others; every adjustment changes the mood of the entire circuit.
GORSE LATHE is a machine for explorers — for those who seek imperfection, warmth, and surprise.
It’s a canvas for sonic alchemy: from slow, breathing drones to metallic rhythms, from dust to thunder.
No two sessions ever sound the same.
Every GORSE LATHE is assembled by hand, calibrated by ear, and intended to become part of its player’s intuition.
It doesn’t just produce sound — it teaches you to listen differently.
